I ran into my friend Lindsay wandering in SoHo over the weekend and, as always, this lady is looking adorable. She is all about finding deals, which is evident on her style blog $30 Project! Lindsay is wearing an Urban Outfitters sweater over her Large Hearted Contest Boy Threadless t-shirt gift.
The skirt is a Jones NY Goodwill find for $7 (like I said, deals!), one necklace from H&M, the other from a street vendor on Canal Street and shoes are Dolce Vita for Target. The rest of her outfit falls under things she’s gotten as gifts: tights – Banana Republic; belt – J. Crew; bag – from her friend Jen when they were 8 years old (adorable)!

Out to Queens for the day! While there, I found the adorable Veronika, a student working toward her PhD in Neuroscience. (Yes, I was intimidated by that information too – and I may or may not have tried to use big words to impress her!) Veronika blends classic with modern with this look.
The black blazer, from Express, is embellished with a vintage pin from the 1930’s and paired with an Urban Outfitters dress with the perfect pops of color to add life to the chilly fall weather. She accessorized with bold earrings from Forever 21 and an H&M bag. Veronika is put together in a comfortable, easy way.

Brigette was walking tall in SoHo near Spring and Broadway when I spotted her – and how could I not with her brilliant red hair and those rockin’ boots from DSW! Besides Brigette’s shirt (Forever 21), everything she’s wearing has traveled across the globe to meet me here in NYC.
The most interesting is her backpack which is a bit of a celebrity, having been photographed in 17 different countries. Brigette’s outfit: pants and shawl: New Zealand; belt: Australia; jewelry: Thailand, Italy and Argentina. This girl is well-traveled, über-trendy and rather talented, I realized as I looked through Brigette’s blog: Hummus Bird!

I met super-stylish (and adorably-named) Jac in SoHo this weekend. The chill had everyone bundled up, and Jac was no exception. She battled the weather in a chic dress and shoes from All Saints, paired with a Stussy vest and a BB Dakota coat.
Her bag of choice to finish it all off is a vegan leather handbag from Matt & Nat. And although most of us can only dream of having this designer outfit, we can use Jac as inspiration and find affordable pieces to put together a similar look!

Greenwich Village has offered yet another fashionista. I found Amanda walking down University in a trendy and, I learned later, almost entirely secondhand outfit – including the BCBG jacket and 7 for All Mankind jeans! She bought her shirt at the Salvation Army (great find!).
Amanda’s Coach bag was a gift, as well as the gorgeous rings on her left hand. The leaf ring she got a great deal on at ASOS and her sunnies are from a street vendor in the city. I seriously need to shop with this girl!

I met Haewon at Union Square where she was working on a project for her class at the School of Visual Arts (this girl is talented!) Her amazing outfit comes from all over the world, literally. Starting close to home, Haewon bought her dress and belt from Anthropologie (on sale during Fashion’s Night Out in NYC!). She satisfied her need for patterns with these adorable tights from Sock Dreams for super cheap!
Haewon’s infatuation of pointy-toed shoes had her swapping her heart out across the country at a California Swap Meet for this cute pair. And her incredibly unique bag has traveled the farthest to be photographed in the Big Apple, as it was a gift from her aunt in Korea. Absolutely in love with this girl’s style!

It’s obvious that I’ve been on a hiatus for the last few months…so I thought I would upload some of the photos that you have all missed out on. I have since graduated from the Art Institute of Colorado and made some trips to New York applying for jobs and interviewing. This is a very exciting, albeit stressful, time in my life!
These shoots include models: Joshua Marable, Jeremiah Garcia, and the beautiful Corina Drew.
Unintentionally, this turned into the nearly-all-black-and-white-photos post. I must be in a black and white mood today. Enjoy!

Take a peek at the shoot that Logan Ellis: Hairstylist & Makeup Artist, Christine: Model and I collaborated on last weekend! I’d love to hear your thoughts.
I couldn’t have asked for a better team. Love these ladies!

Today I decided to push outside of the typical clean shots that I create and try a more organic, raw approach to my photography. I’d love some feedback.

If you are anything like me, I’m sure you couldn’t wait for the fashion trends this spring is bringing us. 2011 really is going to rock: It’s all about comfort and ease! What’s easier than that?!? Now, this does not mean that we’ll be seeing slouchy, ragged, thrown together outfits. Spring 2011 tells us that fashionable can be comfortable too. Not to mention that just the thought of florals makes me feel warm and springy!
I love the soft splashes of femininity, like pinks, florals, paisleys, laces (can’t help but share this fantastic dress-courtesy of Aprizi.com) and natural colors. These are in the forms of jumpers, which I love to pair with over-sized comfy sweaters; mini dresses (found on boutiques.com), which can be paired with a great legging or tights to keep those of us in cooler climates warm, and a super stylish boot…again, some of us will have snow soon, if not already (found on MarieClaire.com Love this magazine!); and casual to dressy button-downs and boyfriend shirts, love these with jeans or leggings and a super comfy pair of flats, of which Tory Burch has so many to choose from).
Now for those of you put off by the skin-tightness of 2010, you’ll be happy to hear that looser bottoms are coming back this spring too. How fun to pair these two great trends and all of those great patterns! The accessories of the season will be fun to pair with these outfits too: bracelets, necklaces, scarves, and statement rings!
FYI: For those of us who don’t have a fortune to spend on our wardrobes, both Target and Forever21 are fantastic solutions to those retail urges that you know you have! And if you’re lucky enough to have an H&M near you…well, you know better than I do that they rock too! As for online shopping help, Aprizi and Boutiques.com are fantastic: it’s your style all the time!
My favorite part of transitioning from 2010 to 2011 is well, the actual transition! I’m excited to style my wardrobe and others’ by combining the contrast of harder edges of 2010 into the softer side of spring 2011!
